A&E suspends Robertson for anti-gay comments; 'Duck Dynasty' fans talk boycott until return

LOS ANGELES — When the A&E network suspended "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson for disparaging gay people, it may have followed a time-honored TV tradition of quickly silencing a star who, for better or worse, speaks his mind. But in doing so it also ruffled the feathers of possibly millions of fans of its most popular show.

First of all, I read the GQ article and Robertson did not say "gays are headed to hell" as this reporter asserts. Secondly, Robertson was placed on hiatus by A&E by merely stating main stream Christian belief found in both the Old and New Testaments. That's a big deal, folks. It seems that this network has taken sides in the culture wars. My prediction is that the Duck Dynasty clan will be richer and the A & E network will be much poorer, if they survive at all. Look for the family and their audience to land somewhere else.
