Pretty please? St. Paul tries sweet talk, not snow emergency, to get vehicles moved

No, it’s not a snow emergency, but St. Paul officials are cajoling vehicle owners to move aside so crews can continue peeling away snow that has been compacted on miles and miles of city streets.

The roads are still icy, are we still blaming Pawlenty?

Ultimately, while this makes perfect sense as a "soft" snow emergency, the masses still largely only react to concrete, personal consequences. That's ticketing and towing.

Amazed to hear the rumbling scraping of at least a dozen passes on the north/south street by my house between 1am and 3am. Further surprised that they did about the same amount of cleanup on the East/ west street with only two passes. Roads look good, but considering it was not a real emergency and the cleanup during the emergency would be graded the typical C I'm not sure if it's an improvement if it means at least 14 extra passes in addition to the 4 original. Does this mean they spent 300% or more on the recent snowfall than they typically would?
