Wow, start talking big about what you will do against a 6-6, cupcake number 9 from the mighty ACC? lol Can't make it up! Psssst....Syracuse will be missing several key starters due to injury. Wait...aren't two of the injured starting DB's??

I thought Coach Limegrover's comments at the end of this article were revealing. Jerry Kill's Gopher players seem to have outstanding character. This would explain why Limegrover has enjoyed coaching them so much and why they have improved to such a degree this year. The Gophers will be tough in their bowl game and even tougher next season.

fraudexposed: what should they do, skip the game because they did not draw an opponent that you would be satisfied with? Not prepare as if the opponent is worthy? Your post is nonsense. Go Gophers, your improvement this year is remarkable and appreciated by real fans of the program.

Oh please give me a break with the Iowa defense...our offense was one dimensional that day. And that had NOTHING to do with the defense. Try playing us now. And here we go again with the cupcake comments. Should we not have gone to a Bowl Game unless it was BCS? We play who we play...maybe they look like a cupcake because we are a better team. GO GOPHERS!!

Oh my yes, MN's offense would just pound it right down the field now vs. IA....just like against PSU, WI & MSU. Wow! Ask NE how Iowa's D has weakened since shutting down MN. MN plays NW, IL, and Purdue all in a row in '14. It just does get any weaker than that.

70 of the 124 D-I football teams will play in a bowl game this year. Playing in a bowl game doesn't mean anything when over half the teams play in one. Cut the bowl games from 35 down to 20, so the top 40 teams are the only ones to play in a Bowl. Then it will actually mean something and be something to brag about. Bragging that Minnesota is in the top 70 Division 1 teams isn't all that special.

You know what's really pathetic? Someone who goes out of their way to post negative comments about a football program that is not their own. fraudexposed and pantherhawk need to get a life. As for commonsens4u, say what you will, but Minnesota Football is undeniably getting better under Jerry Kill. I could argue that playing in any bowl game has little significance outside of the national championship. There are numerous benefits to playing in a bowl game, including extra practice, a bowl trip with more TV exposure, etc. If they weren't profitable for the schools, TV networks, and sponsors, they wouldn't be played. If you don't want to watch, DON'T. If you don't want to read positive things about Minnesota Football, don't read stories about Minnesota Football. The truth is some people just enjoy being jerks, Congratulations, you've succeeded.

Thanks killergopher for hitting the nail on the head. These so called jerks who post all those negatives comments about the Gophers seem to enjoy living and working in this state. Why are they not living in the state they seem to be so positive about? Oh, maybe they can't get the seem quality of life in those states. As far as the number of bowls that are scheduled was decided by many different schools, sponsors and organization not just the Gophers. As stated in another comment don't watch the bowl games that are not of interest to you. Go Gophers!

Syracuse is the team of Ernie Davis, Jim Brown and Floyd Little. They won the national championship in 1959. They were among the schools that started football in the United States. It is an honor to play the Big Orange.
