As a parent of kids in elementary, jr. high and high school in St. Paul I can tell you that I am less than impressed. Inconsistent schedules, poor communication, inconsistent teachers (double standards), overreactions and a general staff apathy have been aggravating to say the least. Were it not for a (scant) few exceptional teachers in each school, we’d have moved our kids to different schools. I am willing to give Principal Silva more time, but as a parent, my frustration level is growing, not diminishing.

Hey Anthony Lonetree: is it a conflict of interest to have a superintendent that gets to claim a pension from Saint Paul Schools as a former teacher negotiate with the teacher union on behalf of the district for teacher retirement benefits? Silva is a retired Saint Paul School teacher. She already gets a longevity bonus because of her teacher tenure. There is a story for you.
