“young American Jews are growing increasingly estranged from Judaism.” I suspect that statement could apply to most established religions in this country. I have no solid facts to back that up, but, just reading and watching the news, biased as it may be, it sure seems like this country is on a real downward spiral morally.

sdsf51 -- If I understand your final point, it seems that you suggest morals do not exist outside of religion. That is rubbish. The fact remains that EVERYONE has morals--developed by a complex mix of societal, familial, and other factors--but the degree to which they agree with another person's morals may be a mixed bag. Aside from the truly "evil", there is plenty of room for everyone, and plenty of blame to share for the perceived "downward spiral". Start with the media, or better yet, ignore the media and just go out and be with people. You'll find that we are just fine.

If you want to help the American Jews, convince them to move back to Israel so you can work your magic on them then. When people come to this country, they assimilate. It doesn't matter who you are or where you come from. Now exactly what you assimiliate into, only God knows...I'm not even sure what it means to be an American anymore these days, but know what it once meant...There are things you must give up to be here, and if you don't like it, stay out...Or perhaps come here (legally) and influence people face-to-face instead of playing the role of the parent from half a world away...
