"there were some things we needed to see... [I] knew why we were doing it back then." Sounds like the QB decisions may have been influenced by Spielman trying to salvage his reach for Ponder.

For that alone, Spielman should be fired. all about his rep and ego; never mind the team or fan base.

"That would have been a lot better. [I] knew why we were doing it back then, so hindsight is always 20/20.”............what a lame excuse. Sticking with Ponder was a joint decision between Speilman and Frazier. What's the excuse for sticking with Cook, Henderson, Mitchell, not playing Patterson, not utilizing all the offensive weapons in the playbook like 3-4 wideouts. Patterson is electric and there is no excuse for not recognizing that until just a couple of weeks ago. Frazier and Speilman need to go.

The only question I have is this? Will Head Coach Frazier announce he needs to sit down and watch the game film before announcing the Vikings starting quarterback for next Sunday? Not only Spielman, but Frazier too needs to go. It would appear that the ingredients for a successful 2013 Vikings season were there all along, but these two cooks, (Spielman and Frazier) once again badly blew the recipe. It would also appear that Ponder's presence in said recipe tainted the whole dish.

No complaints about Musgrave? Good. It's been proven he is handcuffed by the decision to play Ponder, as we witnessed again this weekend. And if Speilman does not come forward to admit he was wrong about his evaluation of Ponder then he will never have my respect despite all the good players he has brought to this team. So you missed a pick. It happens. Now man up and say "I was wrong." Who cares if Ponders feelings are hurt. It's apparent the locker room would agree with the assessment, as well as the rest of us with eyes.

Agree with all above. Our number one problem has been starting player selection. This has been obvious for a while now. Who ever is making these decisions need to go. Ponder is toast. Argument could be made now that a QB as the first selection may not be required. With Cassel we could bring in a QB that is not required to start day one. Patterson is the real deal.

We have our QB now build up a monster D. It hurts to say this, but trade AD to one of the top three teams in the draft and get some top D prospects.
