Fewer than half of state’s top judges earned outside pay last year. Alan Page made nearly $50,000.

For the amount they earn, and what they've received from outside sources, I don't have a problem with this.

What are their hours for the state? How do you serve as a judge and teach in Nashville? Just wondering.

Doesn't seem to be much of a story here. Alan Page earns some extra money aside from his regular job. So what?

A better story would have focused more broadly on the new, tougher disclosure guidelines for MN judges, and better public transparency, and the benefit to our state based on experiences in other states with such standards. Reporting on Justice Page or any other judge earning outside income, which is legal, is about as eye-opening and interesting as learning that Joe Mauer earns income outside of the Twins.

Another hard hitting "non-story" by the Strib, you have got to be able to better than this lame story.

Mr Page is a very honest person. Minnesota is lucky to have him sitting on our top court. He makes money from his previous life... I would bet he gives a lot to charities also. There are some judges in Carver County that make money too... but under the table...Don't go to court in Carver County.. you don't stand a prayer

I don't see the story here. There is no ethics violation, you have done nothing but disturb an honorable man & Judge's privacy. While the information is public, I see no value in publishing what Justice Page makes from work outside the courts. We are honored to have a justice with his talents and insight sitting on our Supreme Court Bench.

May be there is no ethics violation. But it shows a certain lack of class for a Supreme Court justice to be shilling his autograph at sports-card shows.

My guess is that everything Justice Page earns outside the courts goes to his amazing Page Scholars program where he sends kids to college. We are getting only one side of the picture, income without information about charitable donations.

We need easier direct online access to all the contributions made to "re-elect"-the-judge campaigns. It's a chore to obtain.
