Before all the negative comments begin, I am glad they signed him. It is crazy what these guys get paid, but I think this could turn out to be a "bargain" if he improves in year two post surgery, as most pitchers do following TJ surgery. He is young enough to have two productive years as our number 4 or 5 starter. Now sign garza and the makeover of the starters is complete. Hopefully Gibson and Meyer will impress at the MLB level soon.

Waste of money for a below average pitcher, don't count on Ryan signing any more pitchers. Lets see if he gets some offense now.

Yikes. I hope this doesn't mean we have stopped pursuing real quality pitchers.

Sad Day In Minnesota!!! Ryan wasted 11 milllon dollars that should have been spent on Bronson Arroyo and Matt Garza!!

tommy john surgery usually takes two years to come back from. just ask joe Nathan. this guy is a bargain at this price. I remember 1987 when all we had was bert Blyleven and frank viola and we won with a clubhouse full of guys who just played well together. I have confidence this is a step forward. for all the naysayers lets just say lets see what happens!

Only way Arroyo or Garza come here is with massive overpays. Why else would they join a cellar team like the Twins? Not worth doing those deals now.

Wow is all I can say, that kind of money for an average to poor pitcher. I mean, 5-13 and an ERA close to 6 at target field and he gets a raise.
