I hope the players who will replace these two (next year of longer) read what makes them tick. Class players!

Few players in Vikings history have been bigger self promoting grandstanders that Jerry Allen. I can't wait for him and his silly celebrations to leave town.

I wonder how much they "enjoy the ride" given thae fact that niether one of them was able to deliver a Super Bowl (just like every single play that has ever played and will ever play for the vikings) as a member of the purple. Jared Allen is the most overrated defensive ends in the history of the vikings, he has yet to do anything significant in his career in th post season and will certainly retire without a Super Bowl ring no matter who he plays for. It is time to cut these two loose and let them retire into obscurity!!!

Williams and Allen were great players and warriors. Defensive linemen over 30 hit the wall and neither player should be signed next year on a rebuilding team. Allen's $11.6 million salary and $17 million salary cap hit for 7 sacks was a disaster this year. 3 wins in 2011 and 3 wins this year screams for a complete overhaul and youth movement.

It would have been nice this year had we heard Allen's and Williams's names being mentioned half as often on the field as we do in this paper.

Veteran players like Allen earning millions turn it on and off when THEY choose setting a bad example for the younger players. OK so Ponder was only going to be mediocre at best so let's turn it OFF to send a signal to coaches and owners. This country would shut down if we did the same thinking our own boss is under qualified. Millions in the bank gives you the right I guess. Spoiled rotten and thirty should be a reality show starring...you know who.

When Big Pat retired, that hurt Kevin's productivity tremendously, mostly because of Pats competitive attitude was not there to challenge Kevin. That is a fact.

They were both great d-lineman in their prime. They are both now past their prime and their play reflects their age. thanks for the memories but it is time for a youth movement on our d-line.
