Another QB that was not a first round draft pick, but still can play in the NFL at a high level. Probably didn't receive a 9 million dollar signing bonus either. Hopefully he has a long NFL career and gets a "performance" bonus this year!

Ask yourself this: how many Vikings feel this way about their coach? (Quote from article) “He’s a great head coach that really the players love. He had a huge impact on us when he speaks to us and how he does things. He really cares about us, so you really go out there and play for a guy like that.” Coaching matters.

Every time I see a QB like him taken after the first round I cringe. If we had such great scouts how could they miss on him and Russell Wilson? OUCH!

I hope we do not draft a QB in the first round. Many are busts. Draft defense and look for a QB in round 2 or 3. Vision, like the article says, is the greatest asset for a QB in the NFL. Russell Wilson has it, Foles, Kapernik, Brady, all examples of later round QB's with great vision.

Foles is playing well right now but I wouldn't put him in the same category as Wilson, Kapernick and/or especially Brady. Wilson and Kap siezed the starting job right away when they got their chances and haven't looked back but Foles has had his share of failure in his young career before now having some success. Maybe he has turned the corner and will be the starter for "the next 1000 years" for the Eagles but lets not crown hom the next Tom Brady until he's at least done something more than win a few regular season games. Even Ponder did that last year...!

One more thing...While I agree Ponder is a failure and we need to move on, I would say that he wasn't even the worst 1st round QB taken in 2011. Blaine Gabbert is the biggest bust (taken 10th overall) and we can't be sure about Jake Locker (8th pick) yet as he is always injured. All I'm saying is for every Tom Brady there are a 100 Christian Ponders. Hindsight is always 20/20...

Number one priority...Fire the Dolphin Destroyer Spielman before the draft. When it comes to QBs his track record proves he doesn't have a clue.

Watching Foles in person week after week in college, it was easy to peg him as an NFL QB, big, strong, composed with pin point accuracy. The Vikings had 3 chances in 2012 to take him and wiffed. Dumb.
