I live in South St Paul. My local leaders are leaders by title only. I see Minneapolis and the investment both private and public and I'm in awe. I moved to SSP in 98. At the time we were told of a new park planned next to the river. Today that park is an open field and a dog park. SSP sits on the river yet no one has the desire to visit or invest. Although I seldom agree with Minneaplolis leadership on many things, they at least have a vision and know how to get things done. In the mean time, SSP leadership ponders how to preserve Concord ST.

Rybak said: “If I wasn't an almost-broke former mayor, I’d go bid on it myself.” That totally makes sense!!! Rybak is almost broke himself. Now I now why Minneapolis will be in so much debt.

When will Count 3 of the complaint be reviewed by the MPRB? I'll look for it on an upcoming meeting agenda. Or, is that process going to be circumvented too? If the MPRB is going to be ignored, save the city a lot of money by dissolving the board.

The city council should not be running the park area. That is Park Board period. There needs to be separation of those two councils. Otherwise the city will create yet another layer of government just to run that 2 block area.

This will be mostly privately funded? I don't understand... this will create jobs and lead to increased tax revenue. Shouldn't the public kick in at least half?

(Rybak stated): He added: "If I wasn't an almost-broke former mayor, I'd go bid on it myself." ---- Former mayor? If so, why is he still around? If not, he needs to stop trying to speak like he's exiting stage left ASAP and his responsibility ended when he "thinks" it ended. The self-deprecating "I'm so financially poor" ex-mayor joke is not funny. Or, did Rochester cancel his upcoming six-figure salaried job? From one crony trough to the next.

Kudos to Mr. Wilf and Gov Dayton for the People's Stadium. As a result the wealth the people will enjoy will be enormous. It takes great men with vision to get things done!

(article title): "$400 million plan for downtown Mpls. clears final hurdle" ---- Running "around" the hurdles does not count.
