If the deal is that fragile that it could fall through with any kind of delay, I would ask why? Why is it such a problem to delay a little? Arne Carlson said in his blog this whole thing is a mess. Google his blog and read for yourself. I think this deal might be a good deal for the city, but let's crunch the numbers and really get an idea of how much this is going to cost Mpls.

Anyone thinking the Vikings were generous in giving a one million dollar "charitable donation" to the new downtown east park, THINK AGAIN!!! According to Arne Carlson, the Vikings (through the MSFA) will get to use that space 20 times per year. And wouldn't you know, they have a liquor license for the area too.

This may be a "last ditch" effort to try to extract a little more juice out of Ryan! My guess.... or Paul Ostrow has another plan in mind.... like maybe getting Wells to build a facility in Anoka county after this deal with Ryan gets killed! Ryan can't lose either way!

(article quote): Ginder reiterated the importance of the project. “The ramifications not only to the city, but the parties that have worked for years on this, are huge,” he said. ---- Thanks, Ginder, for letting us know that certain unnamed "parties" have been working for "years" on this unnecessary and illegal project that is funded by stealing from the taxpayers yet they STILL need to force it through using cheap lawyer tactics. The people running this huge scam are suffering from affluenza. Let's just avoid the "ramifications" of creating yet another dead zone.

Red Square expands! People are fleeced yet again by socialist politicians and BIG sports - overheard from one of the politicians: "this is good for you, we know better than you do." Blind faith proponents follow and reelect these clowns because they actually don't know better! Amazing but true.

"People are fleeced yet again by socialist politicians" Huh? The Vikings stadium bill chief authors, Republicans, Rep. Morrie Lanning and Sen. Julie Rosen.

mpls417: "The Vikings stadium bill chief authors, Republicans, Rep. Morrie Lanning and Sen. Julie Rosen.">>>>>Evidence that blind faith proponents will label politicians Republicans /Democrats and follow them. You might want to look at who is being fleeced - regardless of your party labels.

"This is not a stadium parking lot, per se" --- Now why was there a need to put 'per se' at the end of that sentence.....(scratching my head)........Could it be that he would have been lying if he would have said this is not a stadium parking lot? Now if I were to go to court and say "I was not speeding.....per se" do you think it would go over very well?

Is Anoka County not keeping Ostrow busy, or does he have nothing better to do in his spare time? His group's arguments make very little sense and amount to selfish political posturing that could end up derailing a deal that is a critical component of the overall stadium development and revitalizing a dead part of downtown. If Ostrow wants to take issue with the city of Minneapolis' role in financing large civic projects, do it when there is adequate time for all stakeholders to weigh in, i.e., not as the deal is going up for final approval.

This is actually the only good deal to come of a publicly financed stadium. Without it, Minnesota will have a stadium surrounded by barren urban blight, just like what is there now. Glad that Ostrow is seeing the forrest for the trees.....
