With plenty of offseason left, Twins GM Terry Ryan’s priority still is adding another starting pitcher to the roster.

Please put your $$ were your mouth is mr Ryan...the only reason I went to target field last year was to watch Kenny Chesney.

EVERY year its the same damn thing,we almost did this and we almost did that.NO more excuses get some good players and quit leading everybody on it sickening.

If you can give Nolasco 4 years you can give 4 years to Garza.

I don't understand why the offense is seemingly such a low priority? Who's going to get on base before Mauer? Who's leading off? Who's hitting the ball out of the park on a regular basis? Who's batting 6th through 9th? The answers to these questions are all fairly weak options at this point. These new mediocre pitchers are supposed to have decent seasons with this offense?

Again, we are still focused on another catcher, but I submit an outfielder(Nelson Cruz?) or 3rd base/utility guy (Drew?) is far more important. Terry Ryan is still focusing on the wrong thing overall. With the position players as is the new pitchers will fare roughly the same way the old ones did. We need upgrades in both areas, neither side is strong enough to prop up the other.

No shot at Kanaka...Yankees will get him if they want him. I would rather sign Santana to an incentive laden contract than a $6 million per guarantee to Pelfrey.

Maholm and suzuki are the two I expect. TR wants a LHer. Too bad he let Liriano leave.

h091364Dec. 13, 13 1:05 AM

Please Ryan, don't let that starting pitcher you want to add be Pelfrey.

Willy53Dec. 13, 13 5:56 AM

Yeah, they have a lot left to do. At present their staff isn't even mediocre with their two new pitchers. Pelfry? Please. He's more of the same. What ever they do, mediocrity will be the name of the game. Despite their new sources of stadium revenue and other league money, the Twins act as if they are behaving like the Yankees. IF they sign Pelfry, I'm going to shut the book on them after 50 years as a Twins fan. Still disgusted with Ryan and the Pohlads.

Minor correction. It is Disney World in Orlando. Disney Land is in California. The Twins need another pitcher, but where is their offense. It's great to stockpile pitchers, but if you are getting shutout all the time who cares how good your pitching is.
