Grizzly panel recommends lifting endangered protections for Yellowstone bears

BILLINGS, Mont. — Wildlife officials in the northern Rockies say it's time to lift Endangered Species Act protections for hundreds of grizzly bears in and around Yellowstone National Park, a move some environmental groups opposed Thursday as premature.

You can thank the return of the wolf to Yellowstone for the Grizzly recovery. Since wolves were reintroduced to the park, the Grizzly numbers have skyrocketed because the wolves do the hunting and the bears take over the kill site.
