HAVANA — It was the briefest of moments, just seconds, two presidents shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries amid a gaggle of world leaders together to honor the late Nelson Mandela.

Great! Hope Cuba opens... up for their economy and people, and for Americans to visit!

AWESOME! I want to go to Cuba and I'm not concerned about them turning the U.S. into a communist state. Let's get this reconciliation rolling. Ironically Russia is a much more sketchy country re: government than Cuba is, yet we punish our neighbors for 50+ years...

Can we be done with the relic of a Cold War grudge already? I wouldn't mind smoking a Cohiba and sipping rum on the beach near Havana.

More than about time. We've been cozying up to dictators a whole lot more despotic than the Castro brothers only forever and have been denying the Cubans and ourselves access to a potential lucrative trading relationship by this ostracism. Time to end this silliness.

Sipping rum on beach in Cuba, sounds better then 0 degrees in Minnesota. Cold war kaput.

I'm with silkweasel21..... Let's bury whatever we need to bury with our Cuban expats in the US and embrace Cuba. I'll be one of the first in line for a ticket to visit.

Liberals never give up on their "if we're nice to them, they'll like us!" nonsense. Yeah, Obama's U.S. apology tour-bowing down stint really made a difference, didn't it? All it showed was a president who was soft and easily manipulated. So naive.

Let's stop this foolish standing relationship with Cuba! We support and send our companies and products to China (another Communist country) but leave Cuba out in the cold. The expats have been doing very well for the past 50 years and they shouldn't dictate on Cuba is running their country now. People from other countries visit and spend money in Cuba, so should we. It has gone on long enough. We trade with other Communist countries but not our neighbors? How wrong!
