The team, with two new starters in hand, is among a crowd wooing the veteran righthander.

For starters, Deduno was the best starter last year. 2nd, it is certainly not all of a sudden that fans think the Twins don't like strikeouts. They have been saying it for a decade. I am not in that group. I like outs however they are accumulated. I am not opposed to pitching to contact. I am opposed to doing it as poorly as the Twins have the last few years.

Also, put me down as not all that thrilled with the idea of getting Arroyo. I would take my chances with Diamond and Deduno with Gibson and Meyer replacing any that are struggling. Is Span still available? We need OBP guys.

Dedundo doesn't belong in the Majors--at least not on any GOOD team. Sign Arroyo, take a flier on Johan, and let Gibson or Meyer take the fifth spot. It's time to get serious about winning here. Let's here the words, "We're trying to win a World Series here," for a change.

I'm not sure the Twins need another pitcher with an 85 MPH fastball. Forget Bronson Arroyo. Let him get on with his rock n roll career.

They're finally starting to spend some money on pitching, and that's a good thing. Wish they'd have done more of that when we had more talent. They spent what, $250M on the M&M boys, and that didn't work out. You start with pitching. I like how this is playing out. Ryan seems eager to put the first two years of his tenure behind him and prove he still has something left in the tank. Time will tell. I hope things work out. We might actually have something to get excited about at the winter meetings, for once in a blue moon. Keep 'er going, Terry!

Why does the press constantly tout a pitchers record as their most important stat? This isn't 1960 anymore. Its an incredibly useless stat.

Stocking the cupboard with 3 and 4 starters isn't going to do much. We are going to have a bunch of high era pitchers with no run support. How is this team going to score runs?

Which #1 pitcher is still available you'd like to see them go after? The fact that Santana is still out there says that he's done as a major leaguer. The Twins need to forget about him and let him languish somewhere else if he can find a place. He had a good thing going here and walked away. Keep walking Johan.

I was nervous about his age, but then again, his durability is better than anything the Twins currently have. Sometimes it isn't about getting the best, but just getting better. Not everybody can be a #1 (or in the Twins case, nobody apparently). If the Twins actually sign a guy that at least 3-4 other teams are coveting, THEN we can actually believe Ryan when he says; "we tried to sign some quality free agents".

Wouldn't it be easier to attract a pitcher if you had a cleanup hitter?
