People like gambling. It's fun. Let's expand the lottery system to include state run casinos. The state would have more revenue than it could have imagined. Taxes wouldn't have to be raised. It's a fun, voluntary way to generate revenue. Sure beats another new or increased tax. As far gambling addicts go...you can't let a few ruin it for the many.

I have yet to hear a plausible explanation why the epulltab income is effectively zero when it was forecast to easily cover the $35 million per year stadium costs. This isn't just some 10% - 20% budgeting error. This is epic fail on a monumental scale. Despite numerous warnings about the lack of credibility of the projections Gov. Dayton, Sen. Rosen, and a number of others ridiculed the "naysayers" and plunged ahead anyway. Either this confirms their incompetence or they deliberately lied to the public and members of the Legislature in order to bring about a massive "bait and switch" scenario in order to get the unwanted stadium built. Either way their conduct has been unforgivable and inexcusable since the costs must now be borne by the taxpayers.

Rossberg-Every thing in your commentary is true. So how can you get 4 thumbs down? A demonstration of propaganda and it seems to be working. God help us.

How about a current report on how Dayton's master stadium plan with E-tabs financing is doing?

Just how is the state going to pay its share of the taj mazygi? The gov swore there would be no general funds used for the stadium. Can't wait to see the answer.

Glad to see the economy starting to pick up steam. These charities could use the money.

and a number of others ridiculed the "naysayers" and plunged ahead anyway. ---maybe if the naysayers would say yes once in a while someone would look credibly at their opinion.

There must be a lot of gambling money spent by a sick number of gamblers to reach an average of $200 per MN resident as the article states. I hardly know anyone that spends money on charitable gambling or any other form of gambling. A lot of the money spent on gambling is spent by people with a gambling decease that causes financial problems for their families and others.
