BALTIMORE – Only the Vikings could make a delayed flight seem poetic.

Lets look at the positives here. At least we are finding out that a few of these young guys can legitimately ball. Also, there is no way that anyone within the Vikings front office/coaching staff can honestly believe that Ponder is our starting QB in 2014. Lastly, we now have the #4 pick in the draft.

The judgement and player evaluation makes this coaching staff the worst in Viking history and it's not easy to top Les Steckel regime. Frazier tied his only head coaching chance to a failed reach pick with Ponder. Frazier and Speilman may be the last 2 people on the planet to know Ponder wasn't the answer, Electric Patterson's 12 game hiatus inexcusable - he should have started on day one and been heavily used as both receiver and running back, their best middle linebacker was 3rd string and cut. Beyond player evaluations their schemes are light years behind their opponents. The coaching staff did not put players in a position to be effective. It took them 11 weeks to put Rhodes and the corners in coverage they do best which is tight man. When the game is on the line no lead is safe with this coaching staff. They'll call a pooch kick at the worst possible time and the cowardly soft cover 2 defense cost them at least 2 games in the last minute.

Frazier is no leader. He is not decisive enough and waits to hear from his staff and allows them to run the team during the game. His lack of head coaching experience makes him fall back on what he has always done as an assistant. He is a manager. Once again the very aggressive leader on the other side of the field out coached him with a little help from the refs.

well, hold on Jim...lets let Fraiser watch the film first before we rip him again. That way he will know what we are talking about.

FIRE Frazier!!!! The Special Teams stops the Ravens kick returner all game and then Frazier decides to pooch kick it right to their best returner!!!! That besides the horrible calls cost the Vikings a win. I'm sorry but the Vikings defense absolutely did play well enough to win. It's kind of tough to stop a team when you get called for pass interference after the ball was intercepted!!! I HAD FLASH BACKS OF THE NEW ORLEANS GAME IN 2009.

The refs made sure that we will get a good draft pick. And the people saying fire Frazier are the same ones who said fire Chilly and anyone would be better than him. We need a decent QB and we can draft one. Other than really sucky refs, the Vikings have gotten better each week when they put the best players on the field.

Frazier is like a parent who wants to be friends with their kids.

This team has talent. Not nearly as bad as their record. With good coaches we can turn this around in short order. With the exception of Ponder we have had 3 great drafts. Be careful next year, there are only 2 QB's worthy of a top 10 pick. Don't reach for a QB if the guy is not there. Next year, some of these top tier college QB's will fall to the 3rd and 4th round.

So while I agree with Cassel should have been starting from day one, now we're supposed to believe that the rookies have not improved at all from day one and were this good back in the first game of the season? I don't think so. In fact last week Mr. Patterson went the wrong way on a kick return that was perfectly set up. Certainly credit the rookies for working on their games so that they can now be depended on to be integral parts of the team. They will be important parts of this team going forward.

Early last year I suggested the Vikes consider trading AD (even though he is the best RB in the league) and everyone laughed but now all kinds of people are "suggesting the same thing". I will tell you now what is going on with Freeman. Think about how strange the whole signing etc. has been and then to have ponder playing and Freeman not even being active. The Vikes see Freeman as their "franchise QB of the future" Trouble is, Freeman is only signed through this season so the Vikes decided to stash him in order to keep his salary/contract down after this year. If other QB needy teams can't see if play they will be less likely to pursue him next year and then the Vikes will use their 1st pick on a defensive player. you can laugh again but someone tell me a better explanation for the entire Freeman signing etc.
