"Now, a year has passed. But the unity born of tragedy has given way to ambivalence and deepened division".............. No juicy shootings to bang the gongs about recently--so The-Sky-Is-Falling crowd feels obliged to stir the pot a little. Truth is, there IS no discord. Do you think that, if increased gun control was favored by the majority of Americans, more politicians would not be supporting it? By and large America has come down firmly on the side of the gun-rights advocates, as witnessed by the liberal politicians who have scurried away from this issue in droves when it came to light just how risky it was--especially if your name is on the ballot in 2014. The left can twist, misinterpret and lie about "statistics" all day. The proof if where America is on this issue is out there for all--all except those with their heads buried in the sand, that is--to see.

There is overwhelming public support for common sense gun "controls", like increased background checks. They haven't been passed into law because politicians fear the lobbying power of the NRA, whose leadership often takes positions that are more extreme than their own members. Get the money out of politics and we'll find out what the American people really think
