Not trying to be disrespectful but why was Kyle riding with this seriously drunk guy? There doesn't seem to be any connection between the two.
Why did it take 4 months for him to be charged?
@ stutucker - I would guess that they were friends and it sounds like they were both drunk.
They updated the story. Thank you. It makes sense now. It was a nephew riding with him. Very sad.
How can someone *not* wear a seatbelt anymore? It boggles the mind...
What boggles the mind is that drunks can still climb behind the wheel and kill people. Nine times out of ten the drunk driver lives. How's THAT for justice?
Negligence: failure to take proper care in doing something.
By not wearing your seatbelt and even getting into a car with a drunk driver the passenger is also negligent and any vehicular homicide charges should be dropped.
Even if the victim was just as blitzed as the driver, I'm still fine with the driver being charged. If he's locked up for three years, that's three years in which other citizens don't have to worry about getting killed by him.
When are people going to learn NOT to drink and drive?! Ugh!
