the Linn LP-12 is definitely a great turntable, mine goes back to 1974. the only really finicky thing is drilling and mounting the tonearm if you get a blank, and if that is done wrong, you will not track straight and have sonic issues. most will have the factory Linn tonearm on these days. a clean blank lacquer master helps in setting side force.
