As 11th, and possibly final, season with Vikings winds down, Kevin Williams in reflective mood

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Kevin Williams has never been incredibly loquacious in public. He has always preferred to use that syrupy Arkansas drawl to talk about the game and not much else, batting away attention like he brushes aside a center on his way to the quarterback.

I can sum up the last 11 years. Best receiver in the game (Moss) eventually gets a big ego and loses value, Favre got us close to a SB then the wheels came off, the Chilly/Frazier debacle, and our QB of the future turns out to be a bust. And of course the best RB in NFL history wasting his prime years with a subpar team.

I think they should bring him back for 1 more year and let him retire as a Viking. Shariff Floyd could stand to learn more from him and he makes this team better at defense. Don't cut him in the off season. Shariff Floyd will struggle next year without Kevin Williams teaching him the game. Just a total class act all these years.

they should play Kevin at nose tackle and let shariff pay along side him for the next four games....

Let's hope the geniuses in the front office have enough foresight to bring him back; of course it would be a lerrer role at lesser pay.

I hope the Vikings don't pull an Antione Winfield on Kevin. There are times when leadership is more important than production. Frazier has admitted that the defense misses Winfield's leadership. Don't make the same mistake with Williams.
