I don't get it. How do we as Minnesotans "forget" how to drive in in inclement weather when we have inclement weather half the year? I've been driving for 36 years and never had an accident or ended up in the ditch. Could it be A.) I pay attention when I drive, B.) turn my cell phone OFF when I drive, C.) drive defensively as if others are trying to kill me, D.) slow down according to road conditions, or D.) all of the above?

The only way these winter weather systems could be dramatized further would to go to the military defense readiness rating - DEFCON 1 through 5. Since this is the first one of the winter let's ramp up the hysteria and go to DEFCON 3.

I watched a car make a sudden lane switch approaching a red light downtown yesterday only and get rear ended by the car she cut off who had not time to stop on the slick road. To the lane switching driver - pay attention!

SW MN had its first storm of the season a couple of weeks ago, or so. They predicted 1" and we got 10". The only thing I know about the forecast is that it will be wrong.

ARRey sez: It's ironic that only the superior drivers ever post on here, never the knuckleheads. Wonder why?

Back on topic: Why is it that all the Cities media outlets are all over the place with the snow totals? Do they all have access to a Doppler Radar? We are supposedly under a winter storm warning with 3 inches of snow, really?

A few years ago I was stopped and sitting at a red light when a car came flying across the intersection in a full spin and took out the front end of my car.
