Vikes have 3 wins this year & Cassel led them to 2 of them. Playing with a legitimate NFL QB Jennings looks like a #1 receiver and Peterson has his best games because Cassel can inflict some damage while the defense place 8 men in the box. Only the Viking braintrust thinks Ponder is a better QB than Cassel and that's the type of judgment that leads to the unemployment line.

If not for Rick Spielman's direct order that Ponder be the starter, Cassel would have started every game following the Pittsburgh win.

Does Ponder still give the vikings the best chance to win??? Besides counting all his money, what is Freeman doing these days???

Cassel brought some fire to the team. Something rarely seen from Ponder.

Should have been in there all along. Not that hard to figure out... Cassel gives the purple their best chance to win, period. Ponder- doesnt.

Hate to see anyone get injured but the Bears no doubt lost the game when Ponder went out.

It is hard to argue with the facts as presented here in this article. How the Vikings brain trust views this QB issue may be an entirely different matter. Which is how it has seemed for most of this season to many of us Vikings fans.

It was amazing how all the receivers were covered.....until Cassel came into the game. And he was even hitting DIFFERENT receivers. And he even moves his head in different directions making READS as he drops back. Cassels big drawback and the reason he is not a starting QB is his windup delivery. It is almost as bad a Tebow's and the reason so many of his passes are batted down. That really adds up over time to missed opportunities. If the Vikings start Ponder again, it is becuase they are playing for draft choices and Ponder gives them the best chance to lose.

"Cassel, as usual, wasn’t willing to wade into any controversy." I just watched Frazier's post-game press-conference and I can say that: the reporters, as usual, weren't willing to wade into any controversy. How about instead of feeding Frazier soft-ball questions that start with "can you talk about..." someone asks Frazier the obvious question: WHY do you say that Ponder is "of course under consideration to be the starter next week"? What on earth makes you say OVER AND OVER that "Ponder give us the best chance to win"? Do you actually watch these games? Are you aware that the rest of the league is laughing at your incompetent assertions that "Ponder gives us the best chance to win"? Maybe the reporters could use some stats on Ponder vs. Cassel to back up these question...Just an idea. They teach this stuff in journalism 101.

Cassell's most impressive play may have been his game saving tackle after Ellison turned his touchdown pass into an interception.
