Even with a frontcourt further thinned by foul trouble, the Gophers battled and managed to put a scare into No. 8 Syracuse.

Liked the play today for the gophs, they will be better with Walker back, the lack of another big man was apparent in the game today. A lot more fight from them than I have seen in a long time. People are not giving the team enough credit yet.

Great game even though it did not come out in our favor. You can really see the difference a good coach makes. Pitino got the most from everyone today. It's just too bad Walker's suspension wasn't five games because I believe they would have won. I am certainly looking forward to great things in the future from Mr Pitino.

Very impressive effort. Need big Mo and cut down on turnovers. They will be fun to watch.

I think Sir Richard is going to be the Big10 coach of the year. I think he's going to find a way to get the team into the NCAA's before the season is out. If they can hang with the #8 team in the country IN THEIR FIRST GAME PLAYING TOGETHER, they're going to be tough to bet after they get used to playing with each other. It was fun to watch a good coach, coach his players and Sir Richard is going to be a great coach.

Energy level, body language, tempo, so much better than under Tubby. Think it is going to be an interesting winter for Gopher hoops.

One thing I know, Pitino coaches, we might not have the talent yet, and the system is fun to watch he just needs to get his players in. A great effort this team is way better right now then at anytime I remember the last 6 years. They play hard and smart. A few too many turnovers but over all I'm very pleased with the effort. Remember Syracuse was a final 4 team last year and one of the best this year.

Take this the same way you took the football team's loss to Wisconsin. The Gopher hoopsters played hard and well against a truly fine Syracuse team that Boheim will likely have in the Elite 8. The more I see of Richie Junior, the more I like him and commend Teague.

First off, will someone please tell why Mo was suspended. Second, it is so great to watch the play of Eliason when being coached by a competent coach. Will be a fun year. Good game guys.

This same game without a coaching change Syracuse would have won by 20+. What a difference a coach makes. Hopefully we can come out of Maui and win 2 of the 3. By the way Tubbys team is on now and have 11 points 3 minutes before the half. So glad Teague did the right thing and brought in Richard Pitino.

It is going to be fun to watch the lads play this season although the Big Ten schedule will be a grind and may well wear them down. King and Smith have to work on not trying to force things and/or allow themselves to get trapped so easily but all in all they looked pretty good today against the Orange.
