While the defense held its own, drops, misfires and giveaways wrecked many chances for the U offense.

Is the Wisconsin celebration really the game story? Why is that the focus?

I knew when Indiana's O only got 3 on that D that we might get zero (defense got our 7) But: Our D fought their tails off and kept us in the game right till end. 3 turnovers = too much against a BCS team, but we hung in there -very well played boys!

Has the team made progress..yes. BUT...Still have a ton of work to do. A decent QB that could throw accurately would have helped today. Of course it didn't help having so many dropped balls. If we can't run effectively, we can't score. Nelson better grow as a passer.

Diogenes9Nov. 23, 13 8:38 PM

Why didn't they pull Nelson at the half? Clearly he was off his game.

The gap narrowing and Kill has the Gophers moving in the right direction. Especially when you consider the mess he inherited from Brewster just a few years ago.

Bit of an odd game. Seemed liked the Badgers were playing "not to lose" the whole game. Gophers tried to establish the run, but never really got it on track. And because of that they had nothing for 3+ quarters. I thought both defenses played well, but both QB's missed on A LOT of passes. Stave looked bad most of the game and their playing calling in the red zone was perplexing. You could say the Gophers had chances to get in the endzone and maybe win the game. But you could also say the Badgers left a lot on the table and could just as easily scored 13 more points.

There were chances to win, but we only made one game-changing play. We are gaining confidence when able to play against the top teams and gaining respect from them at the same time. The Gophers area young team that will be getting better. Recruits that watched today had to be impressed with the direction of the program.

Minnesota's own Beau Allen led the charge with axe in hand to chop down the field goal post. I'm sure he is glad he told Browbeater Brew to take a hike when he was being recruited by that fool.

Great game. Just wish we could get the passing game going. We could be a top 15 team with a decent passing game.
