REVIEW: Even for a family film, “The Book Thief” soft-pedals ugly truths about World War II and Nazism.

Mr. Covert it seems as though you did not read the book "The Book Thief". I thought the movie was phenomenal and did a great job of doing one of my all time favorite books its due justice. The ugliness of the Holocaust may have been washed over but it wasn't the real point of the story. You missed the mark on this one. A fantastic movie I would recommend going to see.

I agree with Trinhak, the holocaust wasn't the main point of the story. Everything about Germany during WWII isn't always about the holocaust. Here was a depiction of how the German people, like others in war time, suffered from bombings. Nothing sanitized about that. It was a very well done movie. Worthy of 4 stars!
