Reusse: Paul gets hot, leads Clippers past Wolves

The Timberwolves had spent the night throwing up bricks against the Los Angeles Clippers’ energetic defense. The home team was trailing 81-70 with 7 minutes, 18 seconds left, when L.A. coach Doc Rivers went back to star point guard Chris Paul to take it home for his club.

Kinda disappointing, this team might win 40 games at the most. Can't win with four on the court that can't play defense, I hate to include Rubio in that but it is become clear he can't keep up with elite point guards. Love is the only 4+ year man in history to avg more that 23+ points per game and 12+ rebounds and not make playoffs. This team does not look like a playoff team. Time to try Flip's system.

rubio should be coming off the bench, he can't score, and can't guard ,and his flashy passing is resulting in turnovers lately.

Wolves tend to bring the best out of all Point Guards! Once one starts to "bring it", Both our D and O start looking as confused as a bunch of guys just thrown together on a play ground pick-up game.

nobody stays with the elite point guards of the nba. rubio does it as well as anybody. in fact nobody stays with Rubio, who is one of the elite point guards. his release flattens out too much from the outside for some reason, like he's been watching and trying to emulate love's free throw method. the ony guy who could consistently shoot like that from the field was elgin Baylor.

No point guards have torched the Wolves this year. Most have been below their season averages. If you look at the stats, you will see a lot of turnovers from opposing pg's and bad shooting nights. I'm not surprised when a guy like CP3 takes over a game. He is simply that good. That is why he is considered the best PG in the NBA and a great player. I hope Adelman is telling Rubio the only time you can see shots going in is when you take them like Rivers told Paul. Ricky needs to be confident and ready to shoot. He passed up a few open three's last night. I would tell Ricky to try to get up 10 shots every night. He hasn't attempted more than 9 shots since the 3rd game of the year. He has only attempted 35 shots in the last 6 games combined. I would say I don't care if you make them, but take them regardless. Corey Brewer is as bad a shooter as Rubio, but he is willing to still jack threes and plays aggressive and I'm fine with it for the most part. Ricky is never going to improve in that aspect if he doesn't even attempt to. I still have a lot of faith in Rubio. That said, the Wolves played bad and still almost won. If they played bad in the past in games, they got blown out. Five of the losses have come by a total of 15 points. Not good to lose all these close games, but no time to panic in November either.

It's November guys, this is a very talented team with an established coach. Everything will be just fine.

Clippers won the scheduling lottery getting the Wolves at the end of back to back both games while they rested. Wolves were clearly tired after flying in late from tough Washington loss. They couldn't even make free throws and and still nearly won both games. In the playoffs I will bet on the Wolves to beat the Clips.
