Gophers proved again that strong guard play and their extra conditioning can take them a long way! But to compete in the rugged Big Ten they will need more out of Eliason and Walker! I still think they will surprise some people and be very competitive in conference play! Maybe Gopher football will not be the only one to surprise!! Gooooooo Gophs!!

Another good win tonight aginst a scrappy CC team. Good guard play again and little Dre had a real nice game. We really need to get Mo back in the game and get him going as well. I think with him and Eliot at center we'll end up being fine there. Great job, 4-0 now. GO Gophers!

Amelia-You feature King and he gets injured; Tipsheet points out November Wild regulation win streak and they get creamed. What's next, use too much ink on Gopher women's hockey streak and they lose? (Oh yeah, already happened...) Superstitious in San Diego

This Gopher team is thin on talent other than Hollins and Hollins. Going to get killed down low against all the Big Ten teams. Hope Pitino can recruit otherwise it's going to be tough to build the program.

I'm as excited as anyone to watch coach Richard's style of play, but let's keep it real. The big 10 isn't the cupcakes we are playing now. Give it a couple of years before we talk of being a top contender in the big 10. Go Gophers.

Slamman got almost all negative feedback, but he's dead on. I'm as big of a Gopher fan as anyone, despite living near Duke and North Carolina (and hating both). But some strong 6-8 guys underneath will eat our lunch in conference play. Hopefully Walker is much improved when he returns as he'll be vital to our success. Love the Hollins "brothers" and think Pitino is the best thing to happen to them.

Two things...1) Mathieu is as a good a point guard as there is in the Big 10 on a skill level. Unfortunately he is 5'9 but he plays much bigger. 2) The game was never in doubt. The Gophers led the whole way. Would like to have seen them pull away but it's a mistake to think they were threatened. The guard play is so improved. The only questions are how the big men will fare and how they can improve their offensive rebounds.

I was at the game and I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. Not sure the officiating helped much. I looked at the scoreboard in the second half and between the 10 players on the court there were 20 personal fouls...really?? I know the NCAA tightened up their contact rules but a play no sooner got started then it was stopped by a foul. And this was NOT sloppy play but VERY tight calls. Also and I know some of you won't like this comment but the crowd was non-existent. Little to no cheering or applause. If it wasn't for the pep-band playing the rouser you hardly heard from the crowd. Come on Gopher Fans get a little enthusiastic, let these kids on the court know you are out there and that you care. GO GOPHERS!

Yes, Eliason is no match for anyone in the B1g... I guess he has improved but that isn't saying much. Can't imagine what Tubby seen in this guy in the first place. And Oto...what a waste his scholarship is. To have him as a starter on this team is somewhat misleading and embarrassing. Ocieneks a starter? Man, things must really be tough on that bench. Can only hope that Walker comes back and is able to give some valuable minutes while he is on the floor. So, when are we going to see a surprise sleeper emerge from he bench? Going to need something! I love the two Hollins guys and the new guys Coach brought in. Now, if only Eliason could actually have a move or two down low it would help. Go Gophs!!!
