Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think? There was a certain irony about Ted Nolan returning as Buffalo’s interim coach on the day Darcy Regier, the Sabres’ 16-year GM, was fired. Nolan left Buffalo in 1997 after a one-year contract offer.

About the only downside to having the best program in college hockey is that our stars only play for the Gophers for a year or two. Just imagine how many NCAA titles we'd have if they stayed all 4 years. It's gotta be tough having to start over every couple of years with developing chemistry, scoring, and gaining familiarity with Lucia's system.
