You know, I understand the concept of hunting and, even though it's not for me, I'm not going to start arguing against it. But what I DON'T understand are trophy photos. They are gruesome and sad. Posing with a dead, majestic animal - eyes blank, often times dripping blood from its mouth. What is so fantastic and prideful about that? It's disgusting. If you're going to kill the animal, show a little respect.

Here's my story...sat up in a tree until a beautiful animal came by to eat from the bait I left for it. Shot and killed it from 100 yards away. Posed for a picture with its corpse to pretend that I actually accomplished something special. The end...

It seems to me that some readers should simply avoid reading these articles. It's obvious from the headline what the article is about, so why click on it?

I enjoy looking at the pictures of people with their deer.

"Whenever I see a photograph of some sportsman grinning over his kill, I am always impressed by the striking moral and esthetic superiority of the dead animal to the live one." Edward Abbey

To tituspullo...you have never hunted in your life...this is obvious from your comments...so please stop commenting on something you know nothing about. To garcialater..... "Now I know why tigers eat their young." Rodney Dangerfield.

I do not understand this need to hunt and kill something. This blood lust or thirst. Especially in todays world with plenty to eat and supermarkets everywhere etc. I guess this is the dark side of human nature, the human animal. And it offends me to see photos or pictures of hunters posing with their kill. Its disgusting, repulsive, and sad. So, please keep your photos of you posing with your kill to yourself, most of us do not want to see it. I would rather see these beautiful and majestic, kind and gentle animals alive than dead.

oimmigration: I completely agree with you about the trophy pictures. However, I do understand the sport of hunting and even respect it, to a point. I've never hunted, but I think it's a little bit like having your own garden. You could tell me "supermarkets have vegetables too! What's the point of growing your own tomatoes?". But I WORKED for those tomatoes and I know exactly where they came from. I believe hunting's a bit like that. Plus, there is something to be said about being able to eat meat after seeing exactly where it came from and how it got that way - instead of blindly going to the grocery store. But trophy hunting and trophy photos: forget it. Why are you bragging about taking another creature's life?

Shooting and killing defensive animals. That does not make me a big man or take any courage. But it is a cowardly act or something a coward would do. Never hunted and never will, because I can not understand it, is cowardly, and have no need for it. Not a violent person.

A correction. I meant to say shooting and killing defenseless animals. But shooting and killing defensive animals can also be cowardly.
