I was in a store today and they had Halloween stuff 90% off so I picked up some for Christmas gifts.
But the headlines keep saying how much the economy is improving. Seems lie the retailers don't believe it.
The economy is in the tank, the holiday shopping season will be weak at best for 2 reasons, the short shopping season this year and consumer confidence down. Healthcare premiums rising for existing customers, some getting dropped and the sticker shock for new enrollees, people are clutching thier purse strings.
If you must shop for the holidays, buy American. Check the labels. Can't find an American-made item? Look a little harder--search on the web.
Buy local. Skip walmart. The Walton family alone has more wealth than the bottom 40 percent of Americans. Keep buying at walmart and pretty soon they'll own you too.
BTW when retailers are giving deals thier making less money, the fact thier giving deals this early is not a good thing. What you will see is they may have good sales but profits will be way down.
So the retailers are looking to get your attention? That attention will not meet one thing when the former middle class people are out of money, and the new health care will cost them a fortune! The middle class is in quick sand and no one is there to pull them out. And as long as this continues, and the middle class continues to spiral into a black hole thanks to the FED, then all of us inclusive will become the bottom of the economy-the lower class whom have no money to waste. Is that not crystal clear?
