Can't seem to win big games on the road, tomorrow is a huge test.

river...they were rusty after being off two weeks. They will be better tomorrow night.

This is a great learning weekend for the young speedy Gophers. The Irish have a bigger veteran skilled team. Get the split tomorrow and tonights game will be forgotten.

Must of spent the week off reading their press clippings and not working on their special teams. Curious changes in the lines too. Let's hope they have a short memory because they need to forget this one real quick.

I was happy to see Kyle Rau try to inspire his young teammates (who were getting popped all night) with a heavy check late in the 3rd period. Hopefully, that'll carry over to tomorrow.

PP was atrocious tonight. Zone entry was shut down nearly every time. ND on the other hand put on a PP clinic tonight with good, quick movement and scored. Gophers came out flying and let the physical play of ND dictate their game in the 2nd and 3rd periods. ND also did an excellent job of shutting down the ice behind their net where the gophers like to cycle and create some low opportunities. Gopher fan all the way but props to ND for executing in all regards - it was the difference tonight. Gophers have their work cut out for them.

I thought we were really weak in the puck control category starting halfway through the first until the finish. We looked rusty for sure. I also thought we looked really poor in front of our own net all night. Wilcox needs more help than our D gave him tonight. Our PP will improve as the season continues ounce the youngsters settle in but man they looked bad tonight. Big game tomorrow! #skiumah

Gopher's speed was neutralized. Small rink, good checking shut them down. Very few second chances/rebounds. Bigger was better. Expect the same Saturday.

The Gophers were definitely outplayed. But the weakest part of the game was the telecast. Let's hope we don't have to watch many Gopher games on NBCsports. That was a real step down from the BTN and several large steps down from FSN.

No surprise. They played decent the first period, but were clearly outcoached in special teams. The powerplay for the Irish was excellent as was their penalty kill. On the flip side, the Gophers power play and penalty kill looked like it was developed by a mites coach. The team has talent, so why they can not get a shot on goal during a power play in perplexing. But in usual form, the team has a chance to solidify its top ranking and they fail. This is the Don Lucia way. Thankfully the women are still going strong. And how many more times is Justin Holl going to cough up he puck or be out of position before they move him back to forward?
