Valspar trims about 25 jobs in Twin Cities

Minneapolis paint and coatings firm Valspar Corp. has laid off about 25 local corporate and sales workers in the last few weeks in an effort to restructure and shift resources, company officials confirmed Friday.

I predict these guys will move out of town in the next five years. Taxes and EPA will make it impossible in this state and most of the others. Sad.

Ridiculous to predict that high taxes and EPA will force a company. If it wasn't for EPA regulation, paint would probably be poured down a drain. Also, don't forget about highly educated workforce. You want low skilled, low wage jobs, then move to Mississippi, Alabama, or Louisiana.

Valspar is definitely staying in Minneapolis. They are renovating their old administration building and powder development is moving up from Kansas City. That said, I'm waiting with baited breath for Todd Weiss to lose his job.
