This team needs to win in regulation or OT because it is awful in shootouts. I bet Mglaforet could put the pads on and stop them....lol

WASHINGTON is allot like the Wild, the two teams have talent and rely on it for results, these teams will have a dickens of a time with teams like the Blues and Preds for example OR playoff hockey in general ...... hehehehehehehehe

Regardless of the final score (or the inevitable flurry of naysayers that will follow this post), the boys played well tonight, were the better team, and deserved to win. Bad non-call cost them a win. Also, probably should've have NOT gone into the "prevent defense" nonsense after the PK. Just do what got ya there, ya know? Those defensive shells never really prevent anything. Nonetheless still got a point, and if the boys take care of business against inferior opponents over the next week, we should roll into Montreal 13-4-4 and one of the best teams on the planet. That's good enough for me...for now. :) [Here's raising a glass to a Wild vs. Red Wings Cup Finals.]

I wish they would get rid of the shoot out and play old fashioned hockey, whoever scores first in overtime wins, no matter how long it takes thats the way the game used to be played The Wild can hardly ever win a shoot out and I just hate seeing the score tied at regulation They should have never lost this game tonite in regulation, as the puck went off Prosseer as he was just standing in front of the net not covering his man... sad

Fuzzypilgrim...I am not a fan of shoot outs, never have never will. That being said, the NHL never eliminated double or triple OT. It used to be one (5 min?) OT of 5-5. I do wish they would go back to that, although something more like 10 minutes or even 20 of 4-4 sudden death. Tough break on the last goal, but what ya gonna do, those things happen sometimes. Harding deserved better.

I hate shootouts. And Harding is still the go to guy.

Fire Yeo, trade Harding.

I think the Wild did well based on the lack of D and being a road game against a team they rarely see. That being said, WTH is with Koivu in the shootouts?? SERIOUSLY, the man has 2 goals on the season!! Yeo, WTH?

chicagowildNov. 8, 13 8:52 AM

Perhaps Koivu is in the shootout because HE'S SIXTH IN THE ENTIRE NHL IN CAREER SHOOTOUT GOALS. Has a shootout percentage in the 40s (considered quite good and 10% higher than Mr Ovechkin across the ice last night).

Mikko is pretty good on the shootout historically. His bread and butter move beat Holtby last night, but hit the crossbar. Not having Parise on the SO hurt and hopefully the news that he is ok is accurate. I am happy with the point on the road. I will take that most nights. It was a terrible non-call on the pick. I think old Bobby Knight would have been pretty happy running the old picket fence with a pick like that. In the end, we lost, but I like how we are playing. Anyone think Granny is soft still? The kid's gonna be a good one! GO WILD!
