New video emerges showing Toronto mayor in a rage, threatening to 'kill' someone

TORONTO — A new video that surfaced Thursday showed Toronto Mayor Rob Ford threatening to "murder" someone and "poke his eyes out" in a rambling rage, deepening concerns among both critics and allies that he is no longer fit to lead Canada's largest city.

And yet (strangely) after Ford's first confirmation of his wrongdoing for which he did not apologize, his approval ratings went up. If Ford is the face of Toronto, they're not looking very good right now.

Are Canadians so polite that no one wants to tell this guy that maybe he should address his substance abuse and anger issues? If this happened at most companies, he'd be in treatment already. Or fired.

I'll bet he'll (1) deny this ever happened (2) try to prosecute the person who shot the video (3) say it must have happened when he was drunk and (4) claim it was his "first time trying ranting."

For those wondering "How did this happen? Especially in Canada?" the Strib has an opinion piece by a Canadian titled "Rob Ford's Toronto: An expanding hot mess" in the Commentaries section. It presents a theory about how he got elected in the first place: basically people voting based on resentment and anger.
