ST. PAUL, Minn. — Minneapolis City Council member Betsy Hodges, a fiscal hawk hoping to make the jump to mayor of Minnesota's largest city, took a commanding lead Tuesday evening in a crowded race not expected to be decided for at least another day under the city's ranked-choice voting system.

Bob Fine has really run the one true grassroots campaign in this election. He is the only candidate that has taken the time to listen to personally listen to my concerns. He has over 40 years of dedicated service to Minneapolis, has been a role model to thousands of kids as a coach for the last 39 consecutive years, has helped make the parks the best in the nation, and has stood up for civil rights in this city both in and outside his district. No question he is my top choice and he should be yours. Take the time to read about all that he has done and I know you'll agree.

Very disappointed in RT for not endorsing the best person (or persons) he knew in this race. When he ran for Governor, Rybak hounded other elected officials and big names for endorsement. His star-power has burned out in my eyes.

What a joke this rank file voting is. We should repeal it.

Because of deep thinkers and RCV, I would love to see your new mayor to be Captain Jack Sparrow. That would be AWESOME!

"(Ranked choice voting) was sold as a progressive reform that eliminates the cost and burden of primary elections...." Except MN doesn't have primary elections, so ranked choice is actually much more expensive than traditional elections here.

"I have no idea if I did it right," Merwin said. -- Dude, it wasn't that hard. There were plenty of election judges around too. You could have asked one of them for help if you didn't understand the ballot.
