All the work Giulianni did to revive New York will die with one term under this guy, who is and ACTUAL communist (complete with supporting genocide in Nicaragua). I'm reminded of the Time magazine article documenting the death of the city under Dinkins. It will fall quickly to those depths again. New Yorkers get the miserable lives they deserve. Congratulations.

Bloomberg was NOT republican in any way, shape, or form ... he was a liberal democrat wolf in buddy-up-to-the-rich clothing... And this guy is a true Dem ... Watch the backlash from his first dem-witted law go into effect...

Excellent! You see, current Mayor Bloomberg was first a Democrat, then a Republican, then an Independent. He changed to whatever he needed to pretend to be, but Bloomberg's politics were clear: he was a Nanny State liberal, although Bloomberg's desire to steal other people's money was not as strong as most liberals' desire. It has been said that New York City is floating on the backs of 40,000 high-income individuals (many of them Wall Street folks and actors--both groups loyal Democratic Party donors) and that if those folks ever moved out of New York City in large number, that NYC would plunge into bankruptcy as it neared in the 1970s. And so who do New Yorkers elect? A "tax the rich" liberal. If it is true that New York City will collapse without the 40,000 "rich" paying the bills, why would you risk alienating them by stealing more of their earnings? I hate New York City. I would love nothing more than them to raise taxes to 100%. But if it is true that those rich folks are the only ones who keep New York City afloat, why in the world would you treat them like crap?

Darn it - we used to love visiting New York, riding the subways, walking Central Park. It has really been a safe, clean, well run city. Sounds like de Blasio is ready to clip the police wings and return it to the thugs. Sad day.

Third-world status for New York in two years. Liberals consider destruction to be success.
