Souhan: Fail to succeed, and 2013 could be a success for Vikings

The best thing the Vikings can do for their future is to lose, and lose big. A quarterback will be their reward.

that's all Vikings need is another QB. Vikings have way more problems like the whole defense, offensive line, fix those first keep Cassel or Freeman send Ponder packing.

U can tell the Vikings don't want to win cause Ponder was the starting QB, starting to look and sound like Tebow. Cassel was the best QB on the team and a veteran who can win in this league and he's on the bench.

Manziel or Mariotta, all for the future. This season is a lost cause. Ponder that, good buddies!

If I am losing em all, it wouldn't be for Johnny Football, unless Mariota is gone and it's my second pick.

I wish I could take comfort thinking that they'll play to lose, BUT I can still picture Frazier's smiling (that's when I became sure he is clueless) face after they beat Washington to go 3 - 13 and lose out in the Luck - RGIII sweepstakes. Even if they they thought that they had their QB at the time, it would have meant an additional pick in that draft.

The Vikes don't even need to try to lose in 2013. Take QBs with the first 2 picks, seriously. We need to stop the decades long carousel at QB.

As soon as the Vikings won that Washington game I knew it would bite us. Vikings could have gotten the bounty of picks Washington gave St. Louis for the right to draft RG3. Johnny Football is not worthy of a high 1st round pick. He shouldn't be drafted until the 2nd or 3rd round.

The Vikings ownership, management, coaches and players lack the intelligence to strategically set objectives, much less achieve them. The remainder of the season will be the same as what has already been played ... namby-pamby, flim-flam and one hand over the other directionless frolic on the playing field. Do not give anybody associated with the team credit for having enough vision to plan for the future. Obviously, they have not been able to in the past. Why should we think that they can for the future?

Unless Bridgewater (no chance) or Mariota (unlikely) are available, do not, repeat, do not pick a QB in the first round. There are so many in the next tier of QB's that several will be available in the 2nd round.
