How many flat tires, broken wheels and near death experiences did he have? Having lived in truly cycling friendly cities like Minneapolis and Seattle I can tell you, Saint Paul is an atrocious and awful place for cyclists. No bike lanes, no sharrows, terrible roads and debris in the shoulder, no place to even lock your bike, the trails and shoulders are not maintained or plowed, expansion joints on bridges destroy bike frames and wheels, hideous death defying intersections and the people in Saint Paul drive as if they have never seen a cyclist before. It is a truly nightmarish place to ride, so much so I moved from the city because of it. Shame on St Paul!
