International panel's leaked report predicts more illness, war, disease with global warming

WASHINGTON — Starvation, poverty, flooding, heat waves, droughts, war and disease already lead to human tragedies. They're likely to worsen as the world warms from man-made climate change, a leaked draft of an international scientific report forecasts.

You had me until the global warming part, we have 100 years of weather data, the earth is 4 billion years old and we have had 5 ice ages.

How do we know we have had five ice ages if there is only 100 years of weather data? Was it scientists who stated there were five ice ages? You believe them then, but not now?

The instrumental temperature record goes back about 160 years, to around 1850. It alone shows around 1 degree C of warming since then. But one amazing thing about science is that we can learn things beyond that which we directly experience...

The real problem is human population growth, and only war, famine and disease will solve that. Unfortunately our climate changing behavior will wipe out most other species as well.
