Who are these "Scientists"? They are the same people shoving gravity, evolution and plate techtonics down our throats. Climate change happens everywhere! Its called the seasons!
Just finished watching the documentary, "The Island President," which tells the compelling story of one nation's desperate attempt to save its lowland islands from sinking, in the wake if rising seas - the consequence of climate change. And while I don't support abrupt/prohibitive economic sacrifices, the Maldives are an important "demonstration project" to gauge how global powers should proceed/respond to global warming.
The sky is falling! The sky is falling! What a joke. They must have missed the update that the earth has been COOLING for many years. This report is just more junk science based on nothing but speculation and lots of kool aid.
The government pays farmers not to to grow food on all their land. It's called "the set aside acre program." Been going on for 30 years. The US farmer alone could feed virtually the entire globe......
minn12: You are entitled to your own opinion and not your own facts. The rate of change has slowed in the past 15 years. But every one of the past twenty years has been above the previous century average. If you flipped a coin and it came up heads 20 times, you would know that something was amiss. And in the meantime, that silly Arctic Ice keeps melting and melting.
I am so sick of these alarmists touting nonsense. The food supply world-wide is highest it's ever been and no sign of it going the other way. These 'climate scientists' have 'pseudo' written all over their collective faces.
The Maldives have nothing to do with sea level rise. It is a geologic issue. There isles are sinking. Sea level rise has been nearly constant at 1-3mm/yr for centuries.
"And in the meantime, that silly Arctic Ice keeps melting and melting." While Antartic ice reached its greatest level in 35 years.
Plants LOOOOOVE CO2....heartier plants producing more fruit....warmer is better, longer growing seasons. The meaningless global temperature metric has maybe risen .6C in 150yrs. Argghhh this matter, and how it has been twisted by the handful of 'pseudo climate scientists' that get all the attention from the gloating media, universities is a sick sickness we must overcome. There is no catastrophe on the way, other than what has occurred naturally in the past and will occur naturally in the future. CO2 may have a small impact but it is mostly positive for life on earth. ARGH!!
And of course Monsanto, Pioneer/DuPont, Conagra, ADM, etc. will just rest on their laurels. They will do what they always have...innovate to meet the challenges. I am not losing any sleep over climate change.
