Backhanded compliments for Kill. Article rubbed me the wrong way which is per usual for Souhan writing about the Gophers.

Jim where is the acknowledgement that Kill now has more Big ten wins than seizures? I thought that was our measuring stick?

Honestly Jim what is your problem with Kill? His assistants are making him look good - Man, you are so pompous. Why can't his assistants be credited for a good job without a shot at Kill?

Once again a great story by the worlds greatest sportswriter, Jim Souhan! Good work Jim!

Jim, how dare you write a column about the most interesting local team this week! And while all your points are accurate and interesting, you once wrote a column many determined was inappropriate (even if it was also accurate) so you can no longer write about the Gopher football team. Apparently the term 'get over it' does not work for many of the Gopher faithful. Please remember that in the future Jim. Actually, since I keep hoping they remain interesting, keep writing. And nice job Coach Claeys and Coach Limegrover!

Souhan just wont let that North Carolina buyout go. Please come up with something original.

Souhan has gone from blatant insults aimed at Coach Kill to damning the coach with faint praise. His nastiness is only surpassed by his arrogance. Give it up, Souhan. Kill will rise or fall on his own merits, not on your transparent campaign to get him fired.

This article is just weird. I echo the above comments of "faint praise" and "backhanded compliments." Ancient Greek sculptors coined the term "sincere" to mean "without wax." A true artist would chisel a sculpture from true marble, while an imposter would fill the cracks of inferior marble with wax. The true test of the artist was when the art was placed in the sun. Coach Kill's team philosophy has faced withering heat, and a sportswriter's premature appeal to just give up. His players have stood by him, his team of coaches, and the U. But this pulpy mess of writing just seems to melt. What's going on Jim? Coach Kill's story, and the story of the U of M Football program is a great opportunty to write something refreshing, inspiring, and, well, sincere. Why are you having a hard time doing that?

you couldnt see him building this program before these last couple of wins? that shows the level of journalism that Souhan aspires - to look at things from a lofty tower instaed of being on the ground , going to the U and see what has actually improved since Coach Kill has got to town.....
