Minnesota preemie births show a sudden increase

Risk factor of pregnant women with chronic diseases may be one piece of the problem.

This seems to be a pretty simple one, increases in premature baby survival rates result in more children by women who are more likely to have premature births who will also be more likely to give birth prematurely. It's simple evolution. No different than a wide range of allergies or other "correctable" birth defects.
