ST. LOUIS — David Ortiz could sense this World Series was starting to slip away, that his rowdy bunch of Boston Red Sox were just too quiet, too tense.

It is too bad the Twins couldn't get their hands on a player like Ortiz. They NEVER get a chance for someone like that. Oh, well, maybe someday they will get one like that.

The Twinkies had Ortiz but they did not know they got a Hall of Famer and let him go for noting because they did not want to give him a little raise. Twinkies apologists would argue nobody picked him up after he was let go, but he was in your system and you didn't know his talent so you failed miserably. This will go down as the Curse of the Big Papi that the Twinkies will never get rid of.
