The Gophers haven't played a team with a winning record yet. So let's not get carried away.

It's nice to see so much early coverage. Thank you. Yes, it is too early to get crazy excited thinking this might be a national championship team; but absolutely not early at all to be really impressed by the outstanding play of the freshmen and it will only get better.

siouxchump - The majority of Gopher hockey fans agree with your North Dakota perspective. I don't think they are the #1 team in the country, top 10 for sure, but at this point in the season it doesn't matter what they are ranked. The good thing is this young team is showing lots of speed, skill and depth. With arguably the best goaltender in the country, the Gophers will be a contender when the NCAA's roll around.

Fasching is the real deal. Enjoy, he'll be gone in 2 years.

Siouxchamp, No one is getting"carried away" These comments are just observations in the early season.Even Lucia says he doesn't think the team is No 1, yet. He says this, well almost every season. Let's wait until Feb March to see who's where in the polls. OK?

The top line is good, but the main story is the Gophers have 4 good lines to roll! The one trick ponies will be gassed looking at our 4th line coming at them like a freight train... and here comes Warning, Rau, Fasching again. Then try some Cammarata, Kloos, Condon. Had enough yet? Heres Reilly, Boyd, Lettieri. We come at them in waves! Pound the Puck! Go Gophers!
