Folks, please keep in mind that this very same Star Tribune "Editorial Board" used their editorials to argue against Governor Mark Dayton's planned business-to-business sales taxes because the Star Tribune would be hurt by them and then weeks later argued for tax increases on other businesses and "the rich". Also keep in mind that the Star Tribune was a cheerleader for the taxpayer-subsidized Vikings stadium because the "news" organization owns land around the Metrodome they hoped would increase in value. Would you trust anything the "Editorial Board" has to say? I wouldn't. You can be sure there is some sort of underlying motivation on the part of the editors or ownership of the "news" organization, probably a financial motivation.

The Strib endorses mostly incumbent and insiders. Have they earned the endorsmenet by running the Park board well? I think they have. Compared to some decisions of the city council, the Park board has done better, and we can be happy to have an independent body to look after our great parks and green resources.
