Koivu's a modern day magician out there: disappears at will for long stretches of time!

I know Russo is trying to help the perception of the team with these articles about the one exciting rookie that they have drafted. If you look at the last 5 years of drafting it shows just how hard it is to get a special player, its taken 5 years to get 1 guy. If you think that the only way your going to be a good team is through the draft with those stats of 1 player over 5 years that is special ?? Is that what Bowman means by its going to take time..... The fans want to win and even though they are buying tickets its not reasonable for them to forget very quickly the games against the worst teams in the league Edmonton and Calgary where they got destroyed when they were at risk of missing the playoffs on their home rink in the final games of the year.. How much more time does the management team of Uncle Leo and Fletch have ? I don't think they are in any danger of losing money as they are selling tickets..... To me the product is bad in comparison to the team that existed before the sale of the team to Mister Leipold, the thing that really drives me crazy is the continuation of continuing to play Parise and Koivou together, were in our second season now and its still the same thing..... Can Someone give me a reason why YEO and Fletch do this ? Mister Russo, could you ask and see if you can receive an answer that has some truth in it ?? I really am curious Mister Russo

Mikko must have learned his craft from Parise, country. Since the last game that he scored a goal, Parise has taken 21shots and has 1 assist. Of course Parise is a -3 since then as we'll. today at the grocery store I saw a picture of Zach on a milk carton. Apparently his offense, defense, and leadership are missing. Authorities may be after him as we'll for stealing $7.5MM!

Anyone notice how Parise scores oodles in NJ and consistently is a threat. He comes here, plays with Mikko, and disappears. Most of the guys Koivu has played with in the last few years have had a significant drop in production. Common denominator? Our #1 center. I wish we hadnt made him our captain, because he would be a hell of a #2 center. Facing the other teams best defensive lines just seems to be an issue for him. And for our Lord and Savior's sake, could we please hit the freakin net??? Or if not that, atleast stop putting the dang puck into the center of the goalie's chest! How many years have to go by with crap for shot accuracy. They are pros, hit the dang net! Scrimmage every day with the wooden goalies if you have to.

Just so we keep on subject here - Brodin somehow still flies under the radar, but for a second year player to be this good is amazing. Dumba is good, but just watching the rookie mistakes he's made in his first few games up, you appreciate how confident and sure of his game Brodin is. As for Koivu - I agree he should be moved to the second line. I think he and Granlund should skate together and Nino or Coyle should be put at 1st center, for a few games. Parise's shots aren't going in, but his game is much more blue collar, putting the puck on net and crashing for rebounds - that's not Koivu's game and splitting them and dispersing talent isn't a bad idea.

It doesn't help having a coach that doesn't know how to shuffle lines or D pairs. Pairing Dumba with Stoner? Are you trying to destroy the rookie's career? Heater is stilling get 2nd line ice time? He's playing horribly! Sit him and bring up Zuck or Haula, at least they can skate and would bring life to that line.

Wasn't the thrust of this article mentioned in an article last season? I.E., Bowman talking about Brodin?

Scotty Bowman knows talent better than anyone in the NHL. Brodin will be an allstar for a long time. Maybe pass up Suter...but I say seperate the two..

Nice to have a kid like Brodin on this team. Fun to watch. Now if he could only score two more goals per game the Wild might win a game or two. Find it hard to believe that after nine games Brodin and Cooke are at or near the top of this teams scoring while the rest of the team sits back and watches. Come on Wild. Pick up the pace.

Too bad he plays on such a punchless squad. Wow they're tough to watch. No one can finish around the net, including Parise. Boy is Leipold going to regret signing those two for as long as he did. Window of opportunity closing more and more each day....
