Dutch Supreme Court rules it's not discriminatory to tax people for owning dogs

AMSTERDAM — The Dutch judges who ruled that taxing dog owners is discriminatory were apparently barking up the wrong tree.

We should definitely adopt this in Minnesota. I know I'm about to get slammed from the super weird I-let-the-digusting-dog-sleep-in my-bed crowd, but I am so sick of picking up after and hearing your dogs bark at all hours of the day. Tax the things in society you want less of. Pollution, cigarettes, drugs and DOGS!

To be truely progressive the DFL should start taxing for each child.

I was checking on taxes in other states. North Carolina has a personal property tax, and this includes on dogs. Can't remember if it includes cats.....
