It's beginning to look a lot like 2011 for Vikings

A 1-4 start with some key injuries is bringing up bad memories.

If Leslie knew the NFL as well as he claims, he would abandon the oh-so-last-decade cover 2 as his base defense. Almost all other coaches have realized that it does not work in today's pass-happy NFL. But what can one expect from a coach that fought against bringing in Josh Freeman because he saw a legitimate NFL starter in Christian Ponder?

I might add, that Ponder, in 4 years threw a paltry 49 touchdowns, while Russell Wilson threw 109. How do you miss that!

The 2011 season, I was at the only home win vs. the Cardinals which Donovan McNabb started at qb, I was also at the game vs. Oakland which I remember being a sloppy game filled with senseless costly penalties.

I am not a critical fan. I think the coaching staff knows a lot more about today's football than I. One observation is that the defensive calls are not very original. In the past I have seen a lot of tight end receptions in the middle of the defense. I don't know if more "man cover" is the answer. Opposing quarterbacks seem to easily read the coverage.

Thank You RICK SPIELMAN. Why this guy is getting a pass is beyond me. The reason we have so many holes on this team is RICK SPIELMAN. And it should surprise no one based on his history. RICK SPIELMAN needs to be fired.

At least we have the highly coveted FA Greg Jennings to stretch the field for our platoon of quarterbacks. Jennings, who is fresh from his brain washing in Green Bay, is now revitalized and ready to make a deep playoff run--much deeper than if he had stayed a Packer. Our schedule is cake in the coming weeks and rest of the season and it starts this Monday night. Teams should be fearful of the purple with Freeman in command. This is an exciting time to be a Viking fan.

Wait and see how badly they stink up their new taxpayer subsidized stadium. (reference "Minnesota Twins")

The defense is probably the worse I have seen as a Vikings fan. The personnel are aging, and many of the younger talent would not start on most teams. They need a complete overhaul but unfortunately we do not have anyone in Vikings management competent enough to make the right choices. I will be anyone that Eli Manning will light up this defense. Jared Allen and Kevin Williams are past their prime. Brian Robison was signed to an expensive contract but he is far from an impact player. That was yet another Rick Spielman special. Fine if you want to sign Robison, but sign him for what he is worth. I have said this for years, but as long as Rick Spielman has any input into the personnel decision making process, this team will never improve. All you need to do is look at his resume.

Wilf's asked Spielman to go get a new cornerback, so we went out and got a new quarterback, leaving our defensive secondary in a mess. I traded my whole FF roster to get Eli Manning for Monday night's game. He's going to throw for 400 yards and 4 TD's. Sorry folks, but it's time to look at trading Jared Allen and AD. They have more value as 2014 and 2015 draft picks than on this team.
